Look carefully at the following content, you will be surprised at his entire production process.

The entire production process is divided into 8 parts: tailoring, sculpting, injection molding, hair transplantation, coloring, eyeball and tooth production, costume decorations, wax figure completion.

Tailoring takes 2 hours

Take more than 180 photos

The first step is tailoring.

Tailoring a celebrity usually takes 2 hours, including steps such as measuring the celebrity, taking photos, donating clothing, making handprints, sampling hair samples, matching eyes, and signed souvenirs.

Among them, more than 250 accurate head and body measurement data will be used to provide sculptors at Madame Tussauds for precise creation and use. During the tailoring process, celebrities need to stand on the turntable. Use different camera lenses and lights to take more than 180 photos at one angle.

Each wax figure consumes 150 kilograms of soil

The head sculpture takes 6 weeks

The second step is a sculpture.

First, the sculptor will use a metal tube and wire to make a bracket similar to a "human skeleton" to support the waxed clay body. At the same time, the sculptor needs to have anatomical knowledge to ensure that every bone, muscle, and tendon will be accurately replicated according to the different wax postures. When sculpting the head and body in clay, the sculptor made sculptures by referring to the data measured during the measurement process and the photos were taken. Due to the thermal expansion and contraction of the wax, the head of the clay sculpture will be 2% larger than the real head.

In addition, each wax sculpture requires 150 kilograms of clay for sculpture, and each sculpture of a clay head takes 6 weeks.

Mold infusion takes 170 hours

The wax figure torso is actually made of fiberglass

The third step is to infuse the mold.

It takes 170 hours to infuse the mold for the wax figure. The finished clay body will be made into a mold and made into a body made of glass fiber reinforced plastic. The plaster mold of the head of the clay sculpture can be divided into 13 mold blocks. The wax museum will heat the mixed wax of special beeswax and Japanese wax to 74 and pour it into the head mold. After the wax cools, the plaster mold will be removed to expose the hollow wax head.

Similarly, the hands of the wax figure will be demoulded and painted in the same way.

Hair should match real human hair

It takes 5 weeks to plant the wax figure head

The fourth step, hair transplant.

Hair samples will be collected on a tailor-made basis and will be carefully matched with real human hair. It takes 140 hours to implant the hair and eyebrows of a wax figure. Artists use a bifurcated needle to implant the hairs one by one into the head of the wax figure. It takes an average of 5 weeks to complete the head of the wax figure. Hair implants.

20 colors to create realistic skin tones

Layers of color to achieve a realistic texture

The fifth step, coloring.

Artists will use 20 different colors to create realistic skin tones for wax figures. It takes 50 hours to color the head of the wax figure. Oil paint is used to paint the head of the wax figure layer by layer to achieve translucent skin tone and realistic texture.

At the same time, the tattoo will also be carefully painted on the wax figure, every freckle, moles, wrinkle, and even dimple will be accurately copied on the wax figure.

No two eyes are exactly the same

Every small blood vessel texture is not missed

The sixth step is the production of eyeballs and teeth.

When measuring the body, the color of the eyeballs will be matched. Each eyeball is made of resin and replicates all the characteristics. The iris of each eyeball is painted by hand with gouache paint, and the texture of each small blood vessel is added to the eyeball with fine velvet. It takes 15 hours to make each pair of eyeballs, and there are no two eyeballs that are exactly the same.

The teeth will be accurately repaired and color-matched based on the tooth model obtained in advance with a dental resin. It takes about 30 hours to complete this step.

Celebrities donate costumes to their wax figures

If you can’t get a gift, you need to collect materials

The seventh step, costume jewelry.

Many celebrities donate their own costumes to their wax statues. The stylist of the wax figure will prepare the costume of the wax figure based on extensive research, and the whole team will carefully dress the wax figure and assemble all the accessories. When the wax figure costumes cannot be donated, the costume team will collect a large number of materials very seriously to find suitable costumes and accessories.

The wax figure goes to the front of the Madame Tussauds

Will be shipped to the studio and written by the creative staff

In the eighth step, the wax figure is completed.

Finally, the head and hands of the wax figure will be installed on the body made of fiberglass, and the corresponding costumes will be worn. Before the wax figure leaves the wax figure-making workshop to go to the various Madame Tussauds, the wax figure will be transported to the studio and the main creative staff will write down comments. The final wax figure will be photographed.
